About

I'm Dale Kowalczyk, and I started this site after one too many conversations with neighbors who were dealing with the same thing I was: scratching noises in the attic, droppings in the pantry, or that sinking feeling when you spot a mouse dart across the kitchen floor at night. Chicago winters push rodents indoors, and when that happens, most of us have no idea what to do first.

I'm not an exterminator, and I don't run a pest control company. What I am is someone who's spent plenty of nights sealing up gaps in baseboards, researching traps that actually work, and talking to local pros to figure out what's worth paying for and what you can handle yourself. This site is where I put all of that together.

Chicago Rodent Pros covers the practical side of rodent problems around the city and suburbs: how to tell what kind of pest you're dealing with, what signs mean it's time to call someone, how to think about cost, and what questions to ask before you hire a service. My goal is to give you a clear, honest starting point, not to scare you into a decision or oversell what any one method can do.

If you're trying to figure out your next step, whether that's a trip to the hardware store or a call to a local professional, I want this site to help you get there with a little more confidence and a lot less panic. If you'd rather just talk to someone who handles this for a living, you can use the form on this site to get connected, or call (312) 450-7705.
