I live on the North Side of Chicago, in an old brick two-flat that's taught me more about pest control than I ever wanted to learn. Mice in the walls during that first cold snap in November, a squirrel that decided the attic was a better option than a tree, the whole experience of standing in your kitchen at midnight wondering what just scurried past the stove. That's really how this site started.

I'm not an exterminator and I don't hold any pest control license. What I am is someone who's dealt with the problem firsthand, asked a lot of questions, and talked to local pros about what actually works and what's just noise. I write Chicago Rodent Pros to pass along that information in plain language, without the scare tactics some sites lean on to sell a service.

If you're dealing with rodents or other pests in your home, my goal is to help you understand the situation and figure out a sensible next step, whether that's a DIY fix or calling in someone local who knows the work.
